"Can't see him (Jesus)."

"He come on water, in a boat?"

"He play downstairs my toys?"

I'm sure Jesus would love nothing better than to do just that, buddy!! :)

father's day weekend: part 2

Sunday was spent with John's family at a park close to Steinbach. Again the weather held out. Another good day..another long post. :)

The guys got things started..throwing around a football.

Jonas could not have asked for anything more than his cousins to play with all day! He loved every minute of it!

He also had his first baseball experience!

He hit the first pitch! ( I just noticed that I cropped the ball out of this one..oops.)

..and he's safe!

father's day weekend: part 1

Well first off, I feel bad that I didn't pay tribute to John here yesterday. But, Jonas and I did express our love and appreciation to him with lots of hugs and kisses and served him breakfast in bed. :) John, know that you are loved and we'd be lost without you!! We thank God always for you.

As for the rest of our weekend...

Saturday was spent at our house with my family. We had planned on having a wiener roast but because of the wind, it changed to a barbecue.

Here's the kids, enjoying the watermelon..(Jonas has developed a love for it this year!)

An obstacle course the kids set up. I didn't try it..it included a handstand after this jump..and I had to take pictures of course! ;)

The wind died down nicely later in the evening so we were able to sit around the fire and roast marshmallows.

My dad..our encourager in all our ventures..and our yard work go-to guy. Just the other day he sprayed all 6 acres of our grass for dandelions starting at 5 in the morning!!

Jonas waved from when the first vehicle left till the last one was gone. He keeps on waving even after they're out of sight. :)

So that was Saturday. A really good evening...the weather held out..and the family time was good. Just what I needed. :)

yesterday's excitement

was these cows.

Our neighbor has cows in his fence now, so while going for a walk to the other side of our property yesterday, Jonas got to "meet" them. I think it's probably the closest he's ever been to a cow. Much to his disappointment though, no matter how many times he said hi to them, they did not moo. He talked about it today again. Oh, and he was also excited to see the "milk" splashing out......um..except it wasn't milk. LOL.

I don't get a lot of pictures of pink, except when this girl is over.

My niece Hailey and her brother Matthew have been over a couple of days this week again. They both like having their picture taken..imagine that! They are constantly coming upstairs like this...

....saying, "take a picture!"

It's gone very well. Jonas is getting the hang of sharing and it makes me so proud!!! Yay, buddy!!

beautiful weekend

We had such nice weather this weekend!

On Saturday John was in Winnipeg (working on finishing up their cd) so it was just me and Jonas. We went for a romantic supper at DJ's, then I asked him what he wanted to do. He chose the park so I told him we'd go to a park in Morden. I wanted to scope out the beach for the wedding photos this coming Saturday and I knew there was a play structure there too, so that's what we did.

The beach area was a big hit with him too...I'm thinking we'll be doing more of that this year than last. Well, at first he walked around holding his pants up so they wouldn't get dirty but it didn't take him long to get over that.

He pointed this heart out to me. Cool, huh?

Then yesterday we went to the beach again..this time at Winkler Bible Camp. The band was playing there as part of their Memorial Beach Grand Opening. I didn't get great pictures of the beach but it's beautiful! 

Jonas missed his nap so here he is having his relaxing time with his "wuch' (soother) and blankie while watching daddy play. (yes, he's clapping!)

You can also see Leah in the background of that picture...my companion at gigs where the band plays. :)

I'm likin' the feel of summer weekends! (even though technically it's not quite summer yet.) Hope your weekend was good too!
