Yup, he insisted on finding blue ones. There are yellow ones and white ones, so why not blue ones, right?
We've noticed him maturing in the last few months. Little by little we're seeing the change...things that used to make him flip out don't so much anymore. He is a genuine joy to be around. Love him to pieces. And every day after he goes to bed John and I talk about the cute things he's said and done that day and John says, "he's a good kid. I think we'll keep him." :).
One of the things I love about our new place is that there's room to take pictures right here at home! My little dream come true. :) Tam and Cole came by yesterday and we had some fun.

My mom and dad came by yesterday to help me plant my garden. Well, I should say Jonas and I helped them. I'm a little lost on my own. I did have a small garden at our other place but I always had to phone my mom for instructions.
Jonas was excited about the "dargen." lol. Got his d and g mixed up. :)
He helped my mom put in the corn.
So, there you have it. Growing up we had a huge garden so I'm glad Jonas gets to experience it too. And it's a great teaching opportunity...we plant the seed, God gives the increase. I explained that God needs to send sunshine and rain and we have to wait a long time before we can eat the corn and carrots..so we'll see how patient he'll be. :)

My friend Dianna asked me to do some of her wedding photos in June. It's exciting, but a little scary for me 'cause the wedding only happens once and I am not exactly a professional photographer. She has faith in me though so I was willing to give it a try. A couple of weeks ago we did some engagement photos for "practice" and I'm glad we did...it was lots of fun! (plus I'm a little more at ease about the whole thing now! ;)

My nieces were here for a couple of nights this weekend. It was a good time...especially for Jonas who hangs on their every word and doesn't leave their side. We spent lots of time outside..they had their dirtbikes here which was lots of fun for us all. (I only wiped out once..the day before the girls came so at least they didn't see! ;)
I had a big long post with more pictures ready but it was giving me problems so I'll leave you with these pictures from Sunday.
The girls weren't sure about the umbrella..they thought maybe it was "too hollywood".....?? LOL.
Well, I'll be taking a little internet break this week. It was really good for me when I did it for Lent and I feel the need to do it again. You know, just to clear my head and get my priorities in order...get more in touch with God. I'll still be checking emails though. So, I'll be back sometime on the weekend. Have a great week!! :)
Hey, here I am...2 days in a row! It's been an at home kind of week..I've barely left the house! I did have to get groceries last night because we were out of milk. ;)
Today we have Hailey and Matthew (my niece and nephew) here. We roamed the yard a bit and did some exploring.
This little pool of water (I don't really know what to call it) is towards the back of the yard. We scared the ducks away as we walked up..I haven't been able to get a picture of them yet.
For those of you who haven't been here, we have the yard where our house is on (about 3 acres...pretty bare), then right beside we have what was the original farmstead which is a few acres as well. There's a few sheds on there and big trees around it. (that's where we'd like to build our house one day!) Then behind that there's a creek/low spot with tall grass where this pool is. Behind both yards there is farmable land which our neighbor rents. And altogether it's 40 acres. And I love it!! Ok, that was kind of off topic but that gives you a bit of an idea where my pictures get taken.
Back to today.... We picked some perty flowers. :)
And they humored me with a foot shot. You can totally tell their little personalities in this one!
Jonas finds it a little stressful having kids over because it means he doesn't have full reign of his toys. Well, depending what age the kids are. But anyway, it's good for him!! ;)
First off, a couple from at my brother's house on Sunday. The kids had four wheelers and dirt bikes out.
Jonas of course is wearing his "this is so fun but I'm going to try my hardest not to smile" face. We had 2 gatherings on Sunday...all in all a good but busy weekend.
Then came the rain which was much needed! Hopefully it will help keep the dust down for a few days. Then last night turned out to be beautiful so we got some yardwork done. First off collecting branches.
Jonas was right in there with us...copying John's every move.
No playing for him when there's work to be done! ;)
He ate dirt, found he didn't like it, but tried again anyway.
So we got the worst of the branches done..enough so we could mow the lawn for the first time.
My idea of a good evening! :)
at what I did last night.
I'm in the process of turning Jonas' room from a baby room to a boy/play room. Our living room at this house is small..so we thought it might be nice to put some toys in his room instead. So out came the change table and rocker..and I added some shelving from Walmart and table and chairs we got from Ikea. I picked up 3 large frames from a garage sale today that I'm going to do something with. I'll share more once I'm done!
So, what's up for the weekend? It's looking busy here. John has a Winnipeg gig on Friday (which I'll stay home from because I'm supposed to be doing some engagement pictures...IF it doesn't rain). Saturday I'm going to the Winnipeg garage sales with my sisters. Sunday the plan is to go to Grunthal for lunch with John's family and back out here for supper with my family. So..it will probably fly by!
I think this evening we'll try and get some yard work done. Still losta branches that need picking up so we can mow. I don't know if I will ever experience that caught up feeling on this house and yard...but I'm trying very hard to be good with that. I think I'm doing ok. ;)

we had a really good time!!
Driving went well with the exception of the first part of the first day. Jonas kept insisting we go on the trip we had promised him. Little did he know we were...I guess he didn't realize it involved driving. :) 
We spent one night in Albertville first..the boys went swimming while I did some shopping.
Then the next 2 days in Minneapolis. We spent most of our time at the mall. Jonas loved the rides..the semi one being his favorite. He rode it 5 times I think!
Legoland... 
The train was another favorite....Jonas thought it was Thomas. :)
Jonas met Dora. He ran right up to her, shook her hand and gave her a hug! No fear at all!! We were floored!
We also checked out the Underwater Adventure thing which was pretty cool. Lots of fish, huge turtles..even sharks!
I think these ones are supposed to be the kind of fish from Finding Nemo?
In between we did some more shopping including Ikea!! I was impressed..it was as good as I'd been told!
We did have a little scare on the second day. Jonas had been coughing a lot, and it got to the point where he was coughing nonstop. We took him to the Target pharmacy and they sent us to their clinic. There they told us he had croup and we were supposed to get him an air machine thingee but we weren't so sure that was really the answer.So we pretty much decided we would just go home but we figured we'd put him down for night and see what happened. We prayed and guess what...he slept all night and was so much better the next day! Amazing really!! So thankful for that.
All in all, it was lots of fun...we had a great time as a family! Can't wait to do it again! :) And now that we're home I have renewed energy to work at home again. Love that!
